Summary
Donna Powton is an educator, researcher and author with a particular interest in music leadership. Her 2005 study, Music Leader Mapping Exercise, was co-authored with Lynn Dobbs, Helen Chimmiri-Russell, Craig Moore, and Lynsey Smith. The study was published in the journal Social Sciences and aimed to explore the impact of music leadership on the development of leadership skills. Subsequent research on Powton's work has shown that her research has had a significant impact on the field of music education and leadership. For instance, a recent study conducted by Oktavi Elisabet Thertisa found that Powton's Powtoon-based video learning had a positive effect on the writing skills of 8th grade students in a Junior high school. Additionally, a study by Sanwani et al. (2022) found that the use of Powton's Powtoon app was successful in training employees at PT. Jaya Persada Indonesia (JPI) in presentation and video skills. Taken together, Powton's research has had a significant impact on the development of leadership, music education and video training.
